Levels of Access in Office Communicator

Office Communicator has five levels of access. Right click on a contact, navigate to "Change Level of Access" and select the level of access you deem to be appropriate.

  • Personal: Has full access to Outlook contact's work and home phone numbers.  This level also includes seeing detailed information about your schedule.  Someone with this level of access can message you at any time.
  • Team: This level is similar to "Personal";  it has full access to Outlook contact's work phone numbers.  This level also includes seeing detailed information about your schedule.  Someone with this level of access can message you at any time.
  • Company: Has access to only work phone numbers and basic information about your schedule.
  • Public: Has no access to your Outlook contact's but can see your information.  This level has limited access to your availability.
  • Blocked: Your status will always appear as "Offline" to the other person.   They will not be able to message or view your availability.
